A Letter from the Innkeeper

Hello everyone! It's hard to believe that fall is fast approaching as cool mornings give way to bright, crisp days. We had a wonderful summer here at the Saxtons River Inn. Our chef has been delighting diners and the restaurant and the pub have been busy as the inn was booked for most of the summer.

We are happy to welcome back to Vermont Academy students, parents and staff! We look forward to serving you here at the inn for another year.  We have enjoyed meeting many of you already. If there is anything we can do for you or your students during your stay with us, please let me know.

There are so many great activities here in southern Vermont and the Connecticut River Valley during the fall, from hitting the bike trails at Grafton Pond to enjoying the foliage. If you're into day hiking and photography, look no further than the peaks of Fall Mountain and Windmill Hill Pinnacle. Looking to do a little antiquing or shopping? We have a little something for everyone. If you would like to go apple picking there are several orchards near the Saxtons River Inn. We're happy to direct you to them as well as some topnotch sugar houses to pick up amazing maple syrup.

We are still seating outside on the porch and the garden for dinner while the weather is permitting. Join us on a cool evening in the garden when we light the fire pit for some extra ambiance.

We are looking forward to seeing you this season! Please call us with any questions. Enjoy the fall!

Sincerely,

Bob
