We think of The Saxtons River Inn as both a place to relax and as a base for exploring the pleasures of Southern Vermont. No matter what season you visit us, the activities and the scenery of the region will help you relax, connect and find a way back to your peaceful state of mind.

Many of the interesting things to do are local events that you are always welcome to join in on as one of our special guests. Depending on the season it might be a visit to a sugar house, a strawberry supper at a local church, picking your own apples in an orchard, cross-country skiing on the Vermont Academy trails, looking for treasures at antique shops, or visiting craftspeople in the area.

Let us know what your interests are and we'll head you in the right direction. If you're looking for a romantic getaway or to reconnect with friends, we would be happy to customize your stay with special treats like a bouquet of Vermont grown wild flowers or Vermont chocolates. Just let us know how to make your stay special.

A recent guest perhaps said it best:

"I love coming to The Saxtons River Inn because it has a real village. Both the town and the inn are unpretentious. When I am walking in the morning I love seeing people going off to work, others walking their dogs, and mothers pushing baby carriages, and at noon seeing pickups in front of the Village Market as locals stop in to get their lunch at the deli. I like sitting on the inn porch and letting the tensions of the city unwind, and then when I am ready I can head out in any direction and find interesting things to do."
