We think of the Inn as both a place to realax and as a base for exploring the pleasures of Southern Vermont.
One of our greatest attractions is that Saxtons River and the Inn is a place where you can unwind and let the tension you bring with you fade away.
So many of the interesting things to do are local events that you are always welcome to join in on. Depending on the season it might be a visit to a sugar house, a strawberry supper at a local church, picking your own apples in an orchard, cross-country skiing on the Vermont Academy ski trail, looking for treasures at a local yard sale, biking and exploring the back roads, visiting the local blacksmith or other craft people in the area.
Let us know what your interests are and we'll head you in the right direction.
A recent guest perhaps said it best. "I love coming to Saxtons River because it is a real village. Both the town and the Inn are unpretentious. When I am walking in the morning I love seeing people going off to work, others walking their dogs, and mothers pushing baby carriages, and at noon seeing pickups in front of the Village Market as workmen stop to get their lunch at the Deli. I like sitting on the Inn porch and letting the tensions of the city unwind, and then when I am ready I can head out in any direction and find interesting things to do."
